Sources of Strength Club- Forms available at the office
The Sources of Strength program (www.sourcesofstrength.org) is a widely used national best practice program. The form at the office describes what you may expect if your child participates. We feel is a great group experience that learns different ways of coping with problems, sometimes serious problems, that they themselves may have. They will participate in school projects to send out positive peer-to-peer messages about Sources of Strength and how to locate trusted adults in order to help students who are struggling.

Spirit Week is Coming Soon!
Spirit Week will be here next week starting on September 18th. The following are details on the dress up days that student council has planned:
ALL CLOTHING MUST FOLLOW THE SCHOOL DRESS CODE FOUND IN THE HANDBOOOK!
A student can miss no more that 7 absences a semester in a class.
* When a student is going to be picked up from school, a parent or someone who is approved as a contact will need to come into the office and sign you out. You cannot leave school without an adult to sign you out at the office.
* A phone call from a parent to the office can get a student called out of class to be ready when the adult arrives to sign you out of school.
* When a student arrives to school during school hours after the 8:00 am bell, that student will need to sign themselves in on the sign in/out sheet at the office. Pick up a "Pass into Class" slip to get into class.
* If a student comes during a break between classes or lunch, that student still needs to sign in on the sign in sheet at the office.
Also, if a student is going to a doctor or Ortho. appointment during school, please bring back a note from the doctor and the school will not count that particular absence against your 7 days allowed in the semester. If we do not receive a doctor note, it is counted as a regular absence.
The junior high is hosting a bin which students can donate an unused new stuff animals which will benefit Utah children who use family support centers. These children are victims of abuse, displacement, broken homes, or have been through other traumatic experiences. A cuddly stuffed animal provides comfort and aids in play therapy for these children.
Any stuff animal you want to donate, please hand them in at the office. We will then give them to Lewiston State bank which are the sponsor for this project. We will collect stuff animals until December 11. We will appreciate any support you can offer.
We bring the announcements and news to you from around the school each and every day. Check back often to keep up on what's happening here at PJH.
