C.A.S.T. After-School Program

CAST is a federally funded program that is designed to help students attain skills they will need and use in everyday life.

Students can meet before school for help with homework from 7-8 am or after school from 3:45-5:45 pm. Both the morning and the first hour of the afternoon are dedicated to academics. From 4:45-5:45 pm there are breakout sessions that will include cooking, sewing, crocheting, robotics, games, ceramics, video production, carpentry, Photoshop and photography, and more. Kristin Skinner is our program director, and can answer any questions you may have.

Exciting Robotics Grant!!!

10/5/2016

Our CAST program was funded a $2,500 grant for students to participate in FIRST robotics. We are holding an information night October 26, 6:00 pm and would love all students and their parents to come.

This is an amazing program for students to come and learn about and build with robotics technology and enter a competition. All students are welcome to come and participate. If you have not yet signed up for CAST and would love to be a part of the robotics competition, please see the office for a signup sheet.

Parents: We need a mentor/coach to help us with this program. Please contact Kristin Skinner at kristin.skinner@psd201.org for more details.

Watch the video below to see how great this program is!

    How Do I Join?

Students check in at the cafeteria whether it be in the morning or the afternoon session. In the afternoon the students will each receive a snack and then have one hour to work on homework and school related assignments. After that they will take part in whatever session(s) that are planned for that day for the remaining hour. If your student needs to leave early at any point that is okay, just make sure you check out with an adult before you leave. It is also not required to be there every day. We like as many students as possible to attend, but if for some reason there is a day you can't make it, that is okay. Just come as much as you can.
